As the Remote Area Nurse you will be responsible for coordinating and assisting in the provision of timely, culturally appropriate, condition specific care through the Visiting and Specialist Services. The position is to be the main point of contact for the organisation of Specialist Services including Case Conference, Telehealth and Outreach Visits. Job Details Salary of up to $140,884.00 per annum 11.5% superannuation Fully subsidised accommodation provided including utilities Coastal Remote Community Travel Allowance of $6,000 per year Retention Allowance of $10,000 per 12 months of continuous service 6 weeks annual leave 17.5% leave loading 2 weeks complimentary Christmas leave per annum Personal/Carer’s Leave: Up to 15 days per annum Programmed Day Off (PDO): Employees who work 40 hours per week get paid for 38 hours and get one day PDO every 4 weeks. Study Leave: Up to 5 days paid study leave per course, per annum Course/Conferences: Up to $2,000 available per annum Other Nursing Allowances including Post Graduate Qualification Allowance and Professional Development Allowance Employee Assistance Program (EAP): 6 sessions per year available & more can be negotiated if required Salary Packaging: Ability to salary package up to $15,900 per annum, plus a further $2,650 per annum on Meals and Entertainment Opportunity to participate in our weekend day-evening on-call roster Relocation Assistance available Location You will be living in a remote Aboriginal community in the Northern Territory (Arnhem Land) approximately 500 km east of Darwin. It is one of the largest Indigenous communities in the region, with a population of around 3,500 people. East Arnhem Land is a large, remote region in the Northern Territory of Australia. It’s located in the northeastern part of the country, bordered by the Arafura Sea to the north and the Gulf of Carpentaria to the east. The region is known for its rugged, wild landscapes, including dense tropical rainforests, coastal plains, and rocky plateaus. Responsibilities Work within the Visiting Specialist Services Program in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team to provide high quality prevention and treatment Identify and prioritise clients’ needs by working collaboratively with other Health Programs, Community Health Workers and the broader Community Provide a culturally safe, competent and comprehensive care Develop and maintain a strong referral pathway Work with the broader team including external agencies To be eligible you must: Current AHPRA registration with no restrictions Minimum 5 years broad nursing experience post registration with minimum 3 years working in a Primary Health role Current Maternity or Remote Emergency Care Must have rural and remote experience Triage Certificate Current BLS (annual), ALS (2 years), REC (or equivalent), Recognised Immunisation Provider Certificate Pharmacotherapeutics Current Driver Licence Current NT Working with Children Clearance Satisfactory Criminal History Check Must have full Australian working rights (i.e., Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, a valid Working Visa, or New Zealand Citizenship) To find out more about this position or to receive a copy of the job description please call 02 9188 3989 or email isobel@curis.com.au and I will be in touch within 24 hours.
